Web Team Lead

We are looking for a senior full stack web developer to lead our team working on both existing web systems (built with Ruby on Rails) and introducing new ones (using ASP.NET MVC). We are looking for a confident developer who can see the bigger picture of what’s needed when given business requirements. You need to be able to mentor/pass on knowledge to more junior members of the team. You will engage with a variety of stakeholders from the initial analysis of requirements through to delivery and maintenance. You will communicate easily with others of varying technical fluencies, articulating your thinking well both verbally and in writing.

Job Description

  • Running a team through an iterative development cycle

  • Maintenance and bug-fixing

  • Furthering, and sharing, technical knowledge and expertise
  • Collaborating with others as required, e.g. QA, translators

Required experience

  • 4+ years’ experience as a web developer
  • In depth experience of a recent version of ASP.NET MVC
  • Experience of React or similar JavaScript framework

Any of the following skills and experience will be advantageous

  • Agile frameworks
  • Experience as a Ruby on Rails developer
  • Creating JSON APIs
  • JavaScript/jQuery
  • rSpec or similar testing frameworks
  • Vue or similar JavaScript frameworks
  • Bootstrap or similar HTML/CSS frameworks
  • Confidence in integrating with 3rd party APIs particularly WordPress, Zendesk and/or Salesforce
  • Responsive design
  • Rails Deployment/Capistrano
  • Asp.net Deployment
  • Linux server administration
  • MySQL/Postgres or similar SQL databases
  • Jira or similar issue tracking tool
  • Docker/containerisation
  • Kubernetes or similar container orchestration tools
  • Jenkins or similar CI/CD systems
  • Azure or similar cloud hosting providers
  • Video encoding
  • Gerrit or similar code review systems
  • Git or similar source control systems
